About Me

Background

This woke queen was born in the 90’s in Orange Farm, South of Johannesburg. Though she has the best of both worlds, with influences from KZN and Soweto, which she gets from her rents (this is the cool way of saying parents), Orange Farm remains the place she calls home. With her primary school education starting from the same township, she later transferred to another school in Lenasia South. Moving forward with her education, Msakazi started her tertiary education at the University of Johannesburg but things did not work out. She then moved to the Raymond Ackerman Academy where she studied entrepreneurship for twelve months prior to receiving her certificate in 2011, I mean you can’t blame her, you know how hard adulting gets, right? After obtaining her qualification from the Academy, Msakazi went on to study Industrial Psychology and Media Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).

Career

She moved to Power FM to become a talk show producer as a well as music show host. She is currently the presenter and producer at the same station, it’s really not a flex but a blessing she’ll forever be grateful for, no cap. She’s also been a part of Campaign called Power 98.7 where she got to hosts shows with the likes of Thuli Madonsela, Nomzamo Mbatha and Khanya Dlomo.

While at Wits, being the slick and dank chick that Msakazi is, she capitalised on her sociable skills and love for music by joining the institution’s radio station; Voice of Wits (VOW) as part of her extramural activities. One of Msakazi’s humble brags was when she moved forward with her career to join one of South Africa’s prominent radio stations; Power FM as a producer for the lunch time show and news reader before producing her first RnB music show at the station. She is currently the presenter and producer at the same station, it’s really not a flex but a blessing she’ll forever be grateful for, no cap.

Msakazi’s television debut was when she appeared on SABC1’s legal drama Sokhulu and Partners; when she was just 16 years old. She was also featured on Ngempela as well as Mutual Friends. She furthered her TV presenting skills in 2018 when she joined the National Broadcasting Institute (Joburg TV) as their entertainment presenter. Her recent work includes co-hosting Channel O’s #LockdownHouseParty with Robot Boii.
